 “The Old Coaching House”

“Safety Notice”

This notice forms part of our “health & safety policy”

All visitors should be aware that we have carried out a thorough Hazard Analysis of this establishment and any Serious Hazards have been identified and steps taken to reduce any potential risk of injury to the public and staff. However, as with all premises, not all hazards can be completely eliminated. The purpose of this Document is to point out any remaining potential hazards and the steps we have taken to reduce the risk of injury. It is a condition of entry to these premises that all visitors abide by our safety policy and comply with the following;

“Children”

Children are more than welcome at “The Old Coaching House” when accompanied by a parent or guardian but must be kept under strict control at all times and remain seated. Children cannot be allowed to run about on the premises as they may cause an accident involving glass or meals being carried by patrons & staff. Children under 12 years “must” be accompanied by an adult to the toilets. Children are not permitted to sit in or be near the bar area except when transiting through this area to other permitted areas. Areas where children are permitted are highlighted on a floor plan layout displayed on the wall outside the toilets. Children should not be allowed to sit in smoking areas although ultimately, this is the parent’s choice. More than half of our establishment is non-smoking and suitable Smoke Free seating for Children will be arranged if requested.

All Children’s meals will be served on cold or slightly warmed plates and Steak knives “will not” be provided to children under 14. If you have ordered a meal for your young child off our restaurant menu, you must advise the waitress that it is for a young child. We will then ensure it is not served on a Hot plate. Baby’s bottles will not be heated in our Microwaves. We will provide hot water in a suitable container for this purpose. Whilst there are “Grey” areas concerning the consumption of certain types of alcohol by minors whilst they are eating, the ultimate decision to allow this falls on the licensee. In our case, we simply do not allow the consumption of any alcohol by any person under 18 on these premises. Current licensing Laws allow us to make this decision and we will not allow any exceptions, even at private functions. The safety of our guests, especially children is our highest priority and our staff will report any breach of these rules for immediate action. For reasons of child safety, any parent or guardian who does not maintain strict control of their children will be required to leave the premises.

“Beer Garden – Car Park”

Although these areas are covered by our CCTV system, they are considered as unsupervised areas and use of these areas is at your own risk. Our staff are not in permanent attendance in these areas although regular patrols are maintained during the day. Do not leave children in these areas unattended as vehicles come and go all day and night. For safety reasons, please return all glasses to the main bar when you have finished with them & please report any breakage’s immediately so they can be cleared up. Children are not permitted any form of glass in these areas, even if supervised by their parents. We have plastic glasses for this purpose. Please ask at the bar when ordering children’s refreshments.

“Dogs – Pets”

We regretfully advise that pets are not permitted inside the Building for “health & Hygiene” reasons. Please remember that some people are allergic to animals and animal hair. You are welcome to bring your pet to our garden area at any time. Any animal used for any type of assistance is excepted from this and are more than welcome. Assistance dogs will be provided with water and biscuits “Free of Charge” if required.

If we are not available, please leave your name and phone number on this form and we will contact you as soon as possible to discuss your points of concern. Please do not ask to speak to the chefs during restaurant hours. They are not permitted to leave the kitchen unattended while preparing meals & cooking equipment is on.

If you have any comments which you think may improve our service to our customers, we are more than happy to consider them. An outsider looking in can often see things that we can miss so your comments are welcome.

If you would like any clarification on any of these points, please ask a member of staff who will deal with your request. We have a “Health & Safety” policy document on all aspects of safety in this establishment and it is available to all visitors & guests for reading on request. Please ask a member of staff for details.

These Premises are Protected by a

24 Hour Video Surveillance System

The System is owned and operated by the licensee and recordings are kept for approximately 2 months.
